A buddy from school and I met up with a group in Rausch Creek Offroad Park in Pennsylvania to do some wheeling. I definitely pushed my 4Runner further than I ever have and it performed quite well. In our group consisting of a Land Rover Discovery with a lift and lockers, an FJ Cruiser, a JKU Rubicon Unlimited, a built JK and a built XJ Cherokee, I was the only one with open front and rear diffs and had middle of the pack ground clearance. Surprisingly, I could actually keep up. I just needed to be winched up one hill and only got stuck slightly more often.
Bonus image: my buddy in his Disco drove into what appeared to be shallow mud. It was not shallow. His straight-piped V8 sounded wicked when he was trying to rock it out so it was all worth it.

Ooh, I’ve done something like that yesterday.

Yours is a lot less expensive if you roll it down a hill by accident

I did actually roll it down a hill a couple of times. Gotta love plastic bodies.

Haha I did not do that thank god.

Put a locker on that thing and you probably wouldn’t have even needed to be winched.

Yeah I wouldn’t have needed it if I had one. The spot where I needed a pull out(not pictured) was a steep muddy hill with a trench running through it and there just wasn’t a way to go up without one rear coming off and one of the fronts having so little weight on it it couldn’t get any purchase on the soft mud

I’ve been wanting to go there for a while. Only prob is that I have a big-ass truck. Are there trails there with enough room to fit one down?

How big? Are we talking like an F-150 or Silverado or like a Super Duty?
There are definitely a good amount of trails that are wide enough, but even some of the greens get kind of narrow and tricky(the picture where I’m three wheels on the ground was a tougher green). I’m a pretty novice off-roader so I’m sure I wasn’t choosing the best lines, but there were still some spots that seemed a bit narrow for my 4Runner. I would only take something more than a little bit bigger if I was with someone who really knows the trails.
